The day started with a bang, thanks to a video message from the legendary Dr. Margie Holmes, the OG sex therapist in the Philippines. Her words set the stage for a transformative experience. Dr. Rica Cruz, the founder of Unprude, reminded us that change is in the air, and breaking the silence around sex is key to a more understanding society.
Workshops that Get You Talking
The summit wasn't just about talks; it was about action! Dr. Rica Cruz and her daughter Caia led a workshop for parents, empowering them to have those sometimes awkward sex talks with their kids.
Stephanie Zubiri, the Reiki queen and founder of Soulful Feasts, showed us how to connect with our bodies and spirits in a whole new way.

We learned so much from the amazing speakers. Dr. Judith Perez-Peralta gave us the lowdown on sexual wellness at every stage of life.
Love coach Sanaiyah Gurnamal helped us break free from unhealthy relationship patterns. "The most important relationship you’ll ever have is the one with yourself," Gurnamal said, emphasizing the power of self-love and personal growth. When we prioritize our well-being, we set the tone for how others treat us. This not only boosts our self-worth but also helps us navigate life with a clearer sense of purpose and direction.
Kat Alano's talk on sex in Filipino culture was both eye-opening and inspiring. "Because we don’t talk about sex, we never talk about consent," she pointed out, highlighting a significant cultural issue. Her candid approach shed light on how crucial it is to break the silence and start these conversations for a healthier and more informed society.

The panels were where things got really interesting, particularly "The Bottom Line of Sex: Business of the Sexual Wellness Market," featuring Jess de Mesa (Kindred), Ava Daza-Zanirato (Jellytime), and Kiya Braun (GoRocky). This discussion sparked critical conversations, uniting industry experts, and advocates to share insights and strategies for change. "I’ve been talking about sex for over 20 years, and I can’t believe this is the first sexual wellness summit in the Philippines. This is also the first sex-related event where women outnumber the men,” said DJ Tony Toni, who moderated the panel.

The summit wasn't all serious talks. There were booths galore! Unprude gave us a sneak peek at their new wellness products, Jellytime had us tossing rings onto sex toys, and Soulful Feasts offered card readings and love candles. Kindred, the women's health clinic, even offered discounted HPV vaccinations and consultations.
