Blogapalooza x Kaunlaran: A Purposeful Push for Cultural and Sustainable Fashion

In celebration of Women’s Month, Blogapalooza partnered with Kaunlaran para sa Kultura at Kalikasan for an intentional and eye-opening event that fused fashion, culture, and sustainability. This wasn’t your ordinary gathering, it was a purposeful movement to #ElevateInfluence by empowering creators to lead conversations that truly matter.

At the heart of the event was a powerful message: Fashion isn’t just about looking good, it’s also about doing good. In a world where fast fashion is everywhere, Blogapalooza brought the BlogaFam together to explore how our fashion choices can preserve cultural heritage, protect the environment, and uplift communities.

Through meaningful discussions and hands-on experiences, the BlogaFam learned about circular fashion, sustainable practices, and how everyday choices—big or small—can make a difference.

One common example is buying ukay-ukay, which helps reduce textile waste and promotes mindful consumption. But sustainability doesn't stop there. The event highlighted that we can also make an impact by supporting local artisans, embracing traditional techniques, and choosing homegrown brands that honor culture and craftsmanship.

One highlight of the event was the weaving session—an immersive activity that gave creators a deeper appreciation of our cultural roots and how traditional craftsmanship plays a role in sustainable fashion.

As Jess Ordoñez of Odd Garage shared:

“Fashion is such a beautiful way to express ourselves. It’s not just something you put on—it’s art, architecture, history. All in one piece of fabric. What fascinates me in circular fashion is that there are so many interpretations. It’s about reusing, repurposing, and redefining how we wear our identity.”
